About Us

Stay Wild K9 is a small hobby kennel located in West Virginia that raises and trains dogs for police work, SAR, and dog sports. Our name is a homage to our state, wild and wonderful West Virginia, always being ready for the next adventure with our dogs, and an emphasis on that certain spark we like to see in our working dogs.

Our dogs are a major part of our active lifestyle, and it is important for us to be able to bring them along on the ride with us. What fun is an adventure without your best friend? We want to help others be able to bring their dogs with them on their next adventure.

Previously we bred KNPV line Dutch Shepherds under the kennel name, Kole Mountain Kennels. Our last litter was in 2014, and with an almost ten-year break from breeding, we are excited to start again. In the span of the last ten years, we have had many life changes that caused our breeding program to take a step back due to both professional and personal reasons.

During this time there has been something crucial missing from our lives, raising and training working line puppies. Being able to raise and develop a young dog, and then see that dog successfully working in a job has been one of my greatest joys in life. While we have not had any litters in the last ten years, our dogs have continued to maintain an active part of our lives, and we are now ready to pick up where we left off.

Working with healthy, stable dogs that have the drive needed to do the job, and then some is the goal of our training program. We specialize in working line German Shepherds and KNPV line Dutch Shepherds and Malinois.
